On Friday, March 24th, and Saturday, March 25th , registration starts at 7:30 a.m. Refreshments are available at 8:00 a.m. both days and are included in the fee.

 

Registration Fees

 Register by February 14th at a discount. Registrations received by February 14th, are $195 for Friday or $195 for the Saturday/Sunday combo. Fees after February 14th increase to $245 and $345, respectively.

Fee includes instruction, access to the Guidebook app (printed hand-outs are available for a fee when you register), morning continental breakfast Friday/Saturday, lunch Friday and Saturday, afternoon refreshments, and Sunday coffee/tea.

 

Special (additional) fees

 Pitches, practice pitch sessions, critiques, contests, Agent Q & A’s, Speaker Q & A’s, printed hand-outs, Thursday’s Pitch Your Best Pitch Workshop, Agent Q & A sessions, Writing Doctor sessions, and Master Classes are extra and detailed on the registration form.

The fee for Master Classes with DeSmet, Chambers, Brooks and Braverman is $55.00 (limited to 12 attendees).

 You must enroll for Friday or Saturday/Sunday in order to pitch or to enter a contest.

 

Location

UW-Madison’s Writers’ Institute is located at the Concourse Hotel in downtown Madison.

 

 

No outside food

 Please note that no outside food is allowed at the Madison Concourse Hotel throughout the conference.

 

What to wear

 “Dressy casual” clothes and good walking shoes are the norm. Outside, the end of March in Wisconsin can be anything from winter to spring, the 30s to 70s, sunny, rain, or late-season snow, so please check weather forecasts before packing.
